her mother had cervical cancer at age 35, her grantfather had colon cancer at 36 yr sge her brother was recently diagmosed with lung cancer. if genetic analysis is performed , what would be the likely genotype of this individual at p53 gene locus?

B.......p53 is a tumour supressor gene...needs 2 hits...1st hit will be inherited ,2nd one wud be acquired

as it seems to be familial condition
inheritance of only one mutant or deleted allele will b present in all member genotype

as u all r correct only second hit is needed to cause diff cancer now
so individual genotype will will only one allele defect
and after sec hit tumor cell s will show both gene mut/deletion

INDEED ONLY 1 ALLELE IS MUTATED and yuo will find this in genetical analysis, the second alele is affected by a separated muation that can be diffrent between the mebers of th family
