Tamoxifen is an antagonist against estrogen in the breast tissue and is an agonist in the endometrium.
Raloxifen doesnt have that agonist effect in the endometrium, so it's safer to give Raloxifen to post menopausal women, since there is no progesterone effect to antagonize estrogen. Where Tamoxifen can be given to pre menopausal women who have progesterone to counter effect of estrogen in the endometrium. |
