A 5 y/o mentally retarded boy is brought to the city from a rural community, for evaluation. A detailed history reveals mental retardation in a number of other family members, especially the males. Physical examination is remarkable for a long face with large ears and bilateral enlargement of the testes. This presentation is suggestive of

the answer is c.. fragile x syndrome...(which is due to trinucleotide repeat expansion)
as .. it affects mainly males n is the 2nd most comon cause of mental retardation..... n has typical phenotypic presentation as is mentioned- long face , large ears ...b/l large testis n other features like hyperextensibl joints n mitral valve prolapse....

i was thinking that but wasnt sure if it was down syndrome, it seems to me that autism is taking over , dont know
