As you know today I did the oasis trick and it said that I
have already passed the test...... but my score is not reporting yet. I don't know my score yet.
My experiences:
I used the traditional books. I am not doing marketing for
anybody but you have to trust people in the forum when they
say something. The forum leads me to UW that was my
life savior. USMLE WORLD saved my face people. UW is
exactly the same as the test. Those people , I don't know them may be are trying to help us by making the UW because
it is the same as the test. I cannot even remenber how many
questions that I did in UW that I have found in the test. There
is a graph of the phrenic nerve with the diaphragm, I never
understood it in the UW, I have just remembered the answer,
so what I did when this question appeared in the test : I
answered what I memorized in the UW.
All books are the same, but for Physiology BRS is the best and I regret that I did not do the questions in the BRS book.
A bunch of graph and questions were drawn from the BRS.
I think for pathology, the best site is Webpath laboratory( the
same questions and graph).
The exam is not difficult but those people don,t ask you basic
question. They are analysis questions. See UW , you
will understand what analysis questions are. You have to be
able to solve medical problems with your basic knowledge.
Example, it is more likely very unprobable for them to ask you for example:
Propranolol is taken caustiously in patient with
1- Diabetes
2-Hypertension
3-Kidney failure
4-Psoriasis
Don't ever think so . If you see questions like that , you are
failing the test.
They will ask you the same question like that
A pt is taking a drug prescribed for diabetes with hypertension. The patient was found dead in the bed last night
after 30 minutes the nurse checked his blood pressure that
was 100/50 and a pulse of 40. The lab result is .........
a bunch of information........ make it very long........
What is the best finding
1-Hemoglobin glycosylated 10
2- Creatine normal
3- Cholesterol 150
4-Pt died from stroke
My test hada lot of lenghty questions. Some people said theirs
were not lenghty. The time was my killer. From the
first block to the 7th one, I was caugth by the time. Be careful
with the time but don't rush because you can confuse a lot of
right answers with the wrong one if you rush. REMEMBER THE
USMLE ASK ANALYSIS QUESTIONS AND BARELY KNOWLEDGE
QUESTIONS.
Microbiology and Immunlogy , I have used the Medical Microbiology and Immunology( Exam and Board Review) Lange. I was above the average for this topic.
Pharmacology, I don't know the best book. But if you
do questions in Pharma you find yourself weak , Adios amigo
you need to study pharmacology very deep.
My advice
1- Go to the USMLE forum
2- Register for USMLE WORLD
3-Buy the books that fit you, but the one with review questions always.
4-Do questions like hell.
5-Pray God during the test
