i have 76 on my step 1 . goin to take step 2 soon . i need a peds residency . what are my chances . i am afraid of thinking that if a get a low score again will i be ever able to get a residency in the US . please advise . have u guys heard of any one getting a residency with a score in 70's . i will be able to apply only with step 1 and step 2 by sep and my CS score will only be ready by oct 10 / nov 10 . please advise

The true is that your chances would be much better, if you would be ECFMG certified, which means passed step 1, step 2 and CS, before even applying on Spt. 1st.
Your chances would be even higher even you would clear step 3 b/f applying.
And if you would have a USCE(Externship/Observership/Elective) in Peds and 3 letters of Recommendation from US Drs, I would say your chances are great.
You can try it this year, although your chances are slim. Next year, you would get it, if you would have all I wrote above.
