domestic abuse should be solved by the abuse victim herself/himself. All doc can do is asking about safety, plan of dealing with the abuse, possibility of suicide, and supplying the hotline and consults if needed

i think Jack and juba are right.
If Victim is mature or old enough, they can report or tackle themselves.
if it is a childabuse, doctor has to report him/herself.

yes , reporting spousal abuse is not mandatory, only mandatory reportable abuses are child and elderly abuse
