i think lucidinterval is a better person to answer this. i need clarification of this concept too. its not clear to me, will u help us out,lucidinterval? please..........

As far as I know unsaturated fatty acids will have atleast one double bond, unlike saturated ones which dont have any. Activation of fatty acids involves replacing a negatively charged group with a CoA group. That would still require 2 high energy bonds. So the calculation will not change.. but if anyone has a better idea, please let me know.

the big difference between saturated and insaturated free FA is that u have to calculate the number of double bonds and soustracte one FADH2 molecule for each double bond
for the same example u gave above if the FFA was insaturated with one double bond the total of ATP generated would be 95-2(FADH2 for the double bond )=93

try with this palmitoic acid 16C and one double bond (it s FFA)
