Wedge-shaped bands of necrosis over the cerebral convexity just lateral to the interhemisphere fissure are found in a 45yo M who recently had extensive MI. What is the most likely cause

A. Carotid A atherosclerosis
B. Cardiac embolism
C. Hypoxic encephalopathy
D. Hypertensive encephalopathy
E. Hypertensive arteriolar sclerosis
F. Cerebral amyloid angiopathy
G Charcot Bouchard aneurysm

well, I am just thinking that a wedge shaped necrosis in the lung periphery is a pulmonary embolism. So I am guessing that a wedge shaped necrosis in the brain is also an embolic phenomenon.

C... As the patient has a history of massive MI recently, there is a very strong possibility of ventricular dysfunction arising as a result of it. This would cause Hypotension --> decreased cerebral perfusion and hypoxic neuronal injury.
