biochem confusion help please - drdido
#1
I have a silly question, so please bear with me...
I am confused about where the second copy of an allele is supposed to be located. I know that we receive 2 alleles for every gene, one from mom and one from dad. Is each one located on the other long/short arm of the chromosome . i.e if one is located on right long arm, is the other allele located on the left long arm for that gene??? Do I have any of this right??
Would really appreciate some input. Thx so much

ACTUALLY A PAIR OF ALLELES ARE DEFINED BY DRAWING A TANGENT WHICH PASSES THROUGH BOTH THE HOMOLOGOUS CHROMOSOMES

SO YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT

Thanks target99, appreciate your input Smile
If I may ask... what are you using as a source for biochemistry? There are some points I sometimes don't fully understand in Kaplan and am looking for another book, just as a resource to clarify what I don't understand. Thx again !
