First lets see what is meant by perfusion limited gas

Some gases quiet easily achieve diffusion equilibrium . eg: N2O So when you increase the blood flow then only the blood con is increased for the perfusion-limited gases.

Some gases dont achieve diffusion equilibrium easily eg; CO so there is no point in increasing the blood flow without increasing the CO conc. These are known as diffusion limited gases.
