its been a while i read physio....all i know is its a way to differentiate it from perfusion limited....just look at the graph and u can make out.

First lets see what is meant by perfusion limited gas Some gases quiet easily achieve diffusion equilibrium . eg: N2O So when you increase the blood flow then only the blood con is increased for the perfusion-limited gases. Some gases dont achieve diffusion equilibrium easily eg; CO so there is no point in increasing the blood flow without increasing the CO conc. These are known as diffusion limited gases.
