indications for operation in barrett...more than 8 cm,high grade dysplasia

for low grade dysplasia...endoscopy every 3-6mo.....for no dysplasia....i think yrlyu

barrett is special bcoz of risk of adenocarcinoma....risk doesnt reduce after surgery unless u excise the segment...u can treat gerd but not barett by nissen...u have to excise when the risk increses...as i mentioned...segment longer than 8 cm and high grade dysplasia
