It has been seen that many users in this forum are confusing and getting confused by reading mails on program on probation or closing down.

If any body has confusion pl call the respective speciality board and one can inquire about a particular program on probation or not. I did that for couple of program and found some of the information in the forum was not correct. dont decline or accept the Pre match just based on the information in the forum, do your own homework

Exactly, find out information for yourself. People on forums may mislead others to get an advantage. Check out the official sites like www.nrmp.org, www.ecfmg.org, www.aamc.org, also check out FRIEDA by doing a google search for information on programs.

The only thing one can tell about a program is whether or not it is on probation.
Nobody can tell if the program may be closed.

In most cases probation is a 2-3 years thing and a program does not get closed. Closures are usually happening for financial reasons and not administrative - the sponsoring hospitals decides that this does not make financial sense.
