Hi,
For those who know the answer or similar experience plz?
I have a pending asylum case, may not know the outcome probably up to 2 year from know.. But have EAD... and able to work indefinitely until a decision made on my case?
Can I work on that EAD for residency? what are paperworks I need to submit to ECFMG? any advice is deeply appreciated?
Thanks

Thanks whoknos and asc....
I asked a couple of attorneys, but it looked like they don't know alot about it, as it is a very specific issue related to residency.... My sense is it should be OK, because we are not asking the programs and visa sposnorship ( just like green card), but I am not sure yet?
Any more thoughts?

If you have EAD, you can do residency without problem legally but it depends on program that they will allow or not.

You should be fine with EAD unless the program worries about your Asylum decision .
But if you Asylum case has been approved and you applied for a green card you are well set in terms of status. Hope this info is of help to you.

if ur asylum case is pending then ur SSN IS RESTRICTED ON EAD WHICH HAS TO BE RENEWED EVERY YEAR WHICH is LITTLE ANNOYING COZ It HAS TO BE RENEWED and comply with uscis processing time.it is better if ur asylum is recommended for approval instead of being in court and still pending decision
