causes:

Htn
prostate cancer
transitional cell carcinoma
infections...CMV, TB & schistosomiasis

prostrate.......prostatitis, prostate cancer, prostatic biopsy.
urthetitis,
genitourinary tb, hiv, cmv, schistosomia hematobium,
genital- urinary trauma,


in young pts <40, no need to worry, benign
in old ones, work up to r/o malignancy

usually the cause is non-specific inflammation of urethra, prostate or seminal vesicles...
which is self-limited and no treatment required.......

coz of the differential.....
may need a full workup...

DRE, PSA, urine cyology, urine cx
examination of genitalia...
