Dear Ulcer,
I've qs for you. Did your friend take GRE and in which state your friend enrolled for PA program? I asked few programs they said I've to take 2 yrs course. .

not suggesting this for you, but my friend who has been waiting for a long time (three match tries and all failed) has decided to go for his Physician assistant degree.. because of his basics and clinical experience, the school is exempting him from most of the courses.. so he will need only one year to get his certificate. GL

he is a us citizen. came to the states a few years back from the middle east. went to mexico for med school and tried matching three times... decided to do either MPH or PA.. he is going with PA school in Wisconsin-Lacrosse program. try.. you never know... pays considerably well and although it's not the same as MD, I don't blame him since he has been trying so long. anyways, good luck in whatever decision you make. when you make it, you'll know it was the right one.
PS --> he also went to college in NY and got his bachelors there
