transcript affects your matching ? is that true? -

WORRIESOME

HI . SOMEBODY HAS TOLD ME THAT HAVING A BAD GRADE IN MEDICAL FACULTY EXCEEDINGLY AFFECTS YOUR MATCHING EVEN YOU SCORE GOOD RESULT IN USMLE . I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS IS TRUE . BUT I KNOW A GUY WHO SCORES 99 IN BOTH STEP 1 AND 2 AND YET JOINED WHAT HAS BEEN HIS LAST CHOICE. AND AT ONE OF HIS MATCHING HE WAS ASKED WHY HE DID PRETTY WELL IN USMLE BUTN'T IN MEDICAL SCHOOL. I GUESS IT REALLY AFFECTS .DON'T U THINK SO .

I have had several interviews last year and in some places they asked me about my transcripts( my grades are not good enough). I believe if your step 1& 2 scores are in 80s or less, and there is a competition between you and another one, then they will rank higher the one who has higher transcripts.
any way be perpare to answer peoperly when you been asked.
