What's an elective? Are you as an IMG eligeable for it or you have to be ecfmg certified?
How can you apply for it?
Thanks guys for your help

Hello BoBo..... Electives are given to IMG's when they are in their med. schools. They can come to USA and there are some universities/hospitals which allow IMG's to do 4 to 12 weeks of clinical rotations in the hospitals. These are known as electives. But you have to be in your med. school to be eleigible for that.Once you graduated then you cant do them.

Hey Ali
Thanks very much for your information. Do you know what's an externship and if as an IMG you are eligible to do one? Can it be done in an University Hospital?
Thanks
