i was in impression of getting in to residency program for green card holders is easy ..bt to my great surprise i can read the blogs from img citizens/gc holders n seems it nt tht easy for them either????

Hi doccs27. It's easier for them based on the nrmp data. Those that are visible here are just loud. But yes, they still are favored by programs over visa seekers.
virtuoso ps. I remember you from San Antonio. Have you taken your Step 3?

I'm studying for step 3 and will take it in July. No, I didn't apply for the last match. I read some of your posts about the last application season . Let's hope step 3 gives a boost to our applications. Good luck!

yeah i got some usce .......seems tht doesnt matter much ....its mainly about score ..... this is wht i feel personally .... i may be wrong but to me its mainly abt score.......

No. I remember your scores,a nd they're good. I don't know how many programs you applied to but you should apply more widely. Coz I know of someone who applied to a limited number of states, with above average scores, and did not get a single interview either.

well i hv nothing to hide ...its 88/90/cs/all 1st attempt pass 2 months usce 2 us lors 2005 graduate ...applied to 61 programs .....no ivs n seems i was nt anyway near of getting ivs ....well i dnt want to discourage anybody ....may be i m nt smart enough to figure out whr to apply hw to apply ....bt thts wht happned to me .... as such i dont care will do my residency from india .... i m ok with all this ..... i feel myself more enriched with things imp for social life apart from just medical knowledge which u got during past 2 yrs ... i think i gain my confidence abt dealing with stress n coming to term whith things which cant be worked out ..... coz its nt always win win sitution in life .... yaa i will take my step 3 n will try this sept ...if it works would be like dreams coming true n if nt will work hard to get smthing better in my home country to make up for the loss of time and money n efforts spent on usmle ..... hey u knw i m very good cricket player n soccer player since my school days bt i always had this thing in mind tht i would never learn english while everybody at home speaks so well .... bt nw after cs n 6 months in usa i feel ok with english n i feel i can speak much better thn others around so in sm way usmle taught me english n i think i m so thankful n i dont regret for trying fr usmle n yeah if it works out whtelse can expect frm god
