for treating cholesterole gallstones with ursodeoxycholic acid?
1. addition of bilirubin to the bile
2. decrease the concentration of bile acids
3. decrease the ration of cholesterole to bile acids
4. increase the ability of the gallblader to concentrate bile

and why?

yes ,answer is 3
ursodiol act by decreasing cholestrol ratio to bile acids by decreasing cholesterol absorption from small intestine while breaking up micelles, effective only in cholesterol stones

hey lek the answer is 3 ...u know these nbme q does not have answers and they are wrong sometimes, it is individuals like us that answer and no one has ever scored 100% in nbme...gl

sure, doc, sorry. The thing is taht the forms 1-4 have the answers from someone who scored 800/800. I guess that's why I wanted to believe the answers Smile
