can someone look at nbme 3---block 1----Q19 slide. The answer in the answer key is Infectious Mononucleosis, but isn't that a slide of AML (auer rods).

A 16 yrs old girl is brought to physician because of sore throat, fever and malise. She has cervical lymphadenopathy, and tender, slightly enlarged slpeen. Lab Shows:

Hb 14.4 g/dl
Hct 33.2%
Leukocyte count 12,000

thanks, ok, but my question was, isn't that slide in the question of AML (auer rods)????

It looks similar, but in this question the clue is the age of the patient
