Two organisms are responsible for most cases of cellulitis which are, Group A Strep and Staph aureus. Of the two Strep is the most common and presents with raised borders where as Staph presents with furucles, carbuncles, abcesses etc. With that in mind, depending on your physical exam findings, you'd either choose an IV cephalosporin or IV Vancomycin.
