I just emailed as many PI as possible whose work was related to my reserch interest such as liver cancer. For example, I emailed the editors in Hepatology (Journal name). Then only one PI gave me the offer with salary. Some PI also gave me the offer although they required me to bring the scholarship by myself. If you have a good publication, you may get a position as a post-doc in the US. Just email with CV.
