eras..? please let me know , i want to do 1 year of preliminary surgery and the go for the direct plastic surgery program.. any advice??

well if plastic surgery use the main match , and requires prelim year , probably you will need to go through eras.
I do not know anything about plastic surg. but this is the case for radiology, radiation oncology, ophthalmology,physical medicine.

I just looked at frieda.
in some programs of plastic surgery they require 3 yrs of GME before , which means a whole surgery residency
and some programs are 6 yrs to start with
if you are a FMG I think a year of prelim would help you in going to a categorical surg
but if you have the option to go to cat from the begining and then apply to plastic this would be better.
Ofcourse this is just a personal opinion , I do nto have solid source of info except conclusions from freida.

thanxs a lot ku...that it exactly what im going to do. but I now that probably to get to plastic surgery , i will need to do maybe 2 years of preliminary or outstanding letters of reco...
