a 65 yr old man brought to emerg dept bec of 1 week h/o confusion, disorientation, talking to himself,delusional ideas about his landlord, and inconcntinence. mental status examination is difficult because he does not stay awake..which of the following is most likely diagnosis??

a. bipolar disorder 1
b. delirium
c. dementia
d.malingering
e. schizophrenia.

what do u guys think...

B. it seems it is acute so you can canel dementia and could be do to increased intracranial pressure. I don't know i am stretching it here

1 week history schozophrenia needs atleast 6 months

so delirium...can cause self talk and stuff..

I believe so it a delusional disorder but is acute,,it causes the same symptoms as dementia.

one of the possibilty is normal pressure hydrocephalus...
sooo i go for dementia...

68 year old women havning gross hematuria... 2 days after admission she develops aphasia and right hemiplegia...., followed shortly by coma and death. what is the cause of the hematuria...
