hep b virus, its replication is as shown.
partially ds dna...1....ds dna.....2.....single stranded rna.......3......dna rna hybrid
what enzyme is at no 2
1-dna ligase
2-dna polymerase
3-revesrse transcriptase
4-rna ligase
5 -rna polymerase

can u explain..from rna to dna ie 3 shd be reverse transcriptase isnt it?
synth of rna from dna ...how can it be reverse transcriptase.shd nt it be rna poly merase?
im confused

it's 55... DNA dependent RNA polymerase.. the nucleic acid before the word ''polymerase'' is the one that the ''polymerase enzyme'' would synthesis... so it means that this enzyme will synthesis an RNA strand using a templates DNA strand, and that's how the hepB virus will replicate: using an RNA intermediate...

it is definitely not RT.. RT will synthesis DNA from RNA.. and it's not what enxyme 2 is doing.. it's doing the regular synthesis of RNA from DNA..
