UW says: The therapy is targeted at increasing the heart rate and Mg increases the heart rate. Could somebody explain it for me??!!

Treatment of torsades:
Correct hypokalemia Correct hypomagnesemia Discontinue any drug that causing prolongation of QT interval B blocker Mg interferes with Na/K ATPase,Na ,K and Ca channels Magnesium sulfate also reduce acetylcholine released ,so increasing HR,the main aim is to shorten the APD. |
