Just want to clear 1 thing
If we have suspicion of lung mass
1. CXR
Now if CXR shows "something" eg some obstruction or anything at a localized area, go for bronch to that area and biopsy.
But if CXR is clueless and suspicion exists, go for CT chest

i disagree with this...........
even if CXR shows some evidence of obstruction or localized area.......we wud go for HRCT chest......to better delineate the process and get more information.........
after that bronchoscopy with biopsy if it is central
if peripheral then VATS

Thanks; I think you are right in general; but again, if suspicion of cancer, HRCT cant give "real" picture.
I am not sure; it is confusing

rocky..
i agree with berbatov...
the case where we decided that we will do bronch first was the guy who was having recurrent pneumonias...so in that case we decided............ to see as to what is causing obstruction by doing bronchoscopy as a first step.... instead of CT.
In a pt with classic sxsx of lung cancer...wt loss etc....we do
sputum cytology
cxr
HRCT
Bronchoscopy w biopsy.
I learnt this ...only that day when meduploader correct us...or rather me....
