hi!took my cs in atlanta last oct 24 and i just got my results yesterday and i'm so thankful that i passed!i just want to share all the things that i realized when i took the cs and throughout all these days of waiting.
the cs exam?well,it's easy...you don't even need to pressure yourself and study all diagnostics.cases are common and simple.but you have to practice, practice, practice and never get intimidated by time or you wanting to ask and do everything during the encounter.i always finished ahead of time bece i keep my hx short and focused.as i read the chief complaint before entering, i already create differentials in mind.from there, then i start asking questions to eliminate or prove the differentials.i just did simple pe, the most impt ones but never forgot the lungs and the cvs.never, ever forget to give advice and summarize in the end.i did wrote my patient notes bec i am most comfortable with that.just do whatever is most convenient for you.don't worry you will think that you failed after the exam...that's normal.just give it your best shot.
more than the exam experience i learned that, the oasis trick doesn't really work so please end the issue.i posted a mssge this month while waiting for my results.because i was so darn worried i failed since i was able to re-apply when i tried the trick, others weren't.but doc4usmle called ecfmg and confirmed that you can do that if your eligibility period expired already and not bec you failed!so i am a witness to that.you can still re-apply and still pass.
second, among all the rest...prayers will never fail you.yes, we can be the best minds in the country...but what are we without prayers?pray and pray even if you're sure you failed.i alwyas thought before that everything is 50-50.i still do but i still know by now that prayers move mountains! believe me.always ask and you shall receive...
and lastle, maybe one of the most imp things,i just want to share what my brother told me along my usmle journey...he said he never doubted my capabilities until i doubted myself. if anyone of you know the story of the"proof" you would know that if you don't believe in you...who else will?
goodluck to everybody..keep dreaming...believing and praying!
