how long can we keep pt in office waiting for labs?
some labs take 2-3 hours, labs will decide Rx and ER transfer.
eg pt with red swollen joint, arthrocentesis and fluid analysis will take 4 hour and culture 1 day, if its septic we'll probably admit.

it is okay to keep the pt in the ER for 4-5 hrs...
esp in asthma MI and COPD cases..
stabilize a bit and then transfere..

this septic knee pt can be transfered to the ward after ordering the imp labs..
he is stable...synovial fluis gram stain comes baclk fast...i think in minutes...
yo udo not haveto start abx...like right now.
send him to the ward and manage there...
