Need advice! Plz help me! - dreamcomestrue
#1
I am in a very desperate situation.
I would like to hear an honest advice.

I got my step 1 score 2 days ago. And it was a real shock.
I was shocked because I took UW self assessment I 2 weeks and self assessment II 5 days before my exam and the result was 86/211 and 92/22X.

I know that self assessments are not as accurate as NBME.
But my actual score came out...79/194!
It was way out of expectation. At first I thought something was wrong.
Has anyone experienced this kind of situation?

This is my status...
graduated 2008
no citizenship or greencard (need visa)
USCE 4 months of clerkship
have US LORs (but not so strong)
USMLE step 1: 79/194
I would like to apply for IM or FM.

Should I go for the rest of the steps or should I give up?
Is a 79 enough score to go for matching?

The internship application dates are coming up in my country. It starts next week.
I can't decide whether to go for the rest of the exams? or to apply for internship in my country.

Any comment would be thankful.
plz..give me some advice..

desperately..

u are in a borderline situation,u dont have greencard or no citizenship ,to be honest with u if u have good financial support and pass step2 with up to 90 then go for rest of exam,if not dont waste your time,i'm sorry to say that but it's the fact
