an elderly woman with osteoporosis falls on her outs trereched hand.she comes in with a deformed and painful wrist that looks like a dinner fork.X ray shows a dorsally displaced dorsally angulated fracture of distal radius.there is also an associated fracture of ulnar styloid.neurological examination is normal.which of the following is most appropriate management.

1)closed reduction and short arm cast

2)open reduction and short arm cast

3)skeletal traction

4)intramedullary rod

5)open reduction and internal fixation

AA..but I think it has to be closed reduction with long arm cast.

hey nissan ur right ,the answer is 1.CLOSED REDUCTION WITH LONG ARM CAST.
Sorry typing mistake.

btw where do we use short arm casts.

if no ulnar styloid fracture (isolated lower end radius) & fr distal to it
