A 21 yr old female,G1P0,who recently emigrated from Zimbabwe presents for prenatal counselling in her 34th week of pregnancy.She received no prenatal care.U/S evaluation reveals less than normal fetal length and markedly decreased fetal head size.Which of the following could have prevented this condition

answer is 5. Only smoking causes IUGR (symetrical). Zidovudine is actually given in pregnancy to HIV mothers and may cause teratogenecity.....nothing well documented.

sorry, hope....you put 2. MMR......maybe...you think that this baby has microcephaly?? Rubella. As cardiac defects in congenital rubella syndrome are common, wouldn't this have shown up on the USS?
