Hi grenadaboy99

Is it true that it is extremely difficult to get IL temporary licence if you have attempts on your USMLE exams?

I found at http://www.idfpr.com/dpr/apply/forms/md-ex.pdf that

Any applicant for licensure who has been unsuccessful in five (5) examinations (any Component, Part or Step of the examinations accepted by the Department), conducted in this State or any other jurisdiction shall be deemed ineligible for further examination until receipt of proof that the applicant has completed, subsequent to his/her fifth failure, evidence of further formal professional study or training in an accredited institution.

As I remember some time ago there was a rule saying that if you had more then 5 attempts on you USMLE exams then you can not obtain physician licence to practice in IL .

What do you think aboui it? Is IL state less IMG friendly then others?

thanks
