A patient is recently diagnosed with cancer. Previously, he had an episode of a nervous breakdown after hearing a family death and had to be admitted to a hospital. He loves his family members and tends to be very open with them on all issues. How should the doctor tell the patient about his current state?

Should tell the family and patient simultaneiusly or just tell patient?
