How much help step 3 could be in my case, Plz help - amikho

Hi, I have posted this before.

I did not match this year and I am kind of down, trying to figure out what could be done. At this point I am caught in dilemma regarding again going for some clinical exp ( I already did for one year ) or step 3.

My scores are

Step 1- 93
Step 2- 79 on second attempt
CS- Pass

How much help could step 3 be for me. From your experience is it something which helps you to get more calls. Please do help me with this, I need some good suggestions, please.

Extremely helpful!!! Now a days the programs are not calling IMGs with out step 3 for the interview. You can mask your low score on step 2 by having step 3 good score. The logic behind scaling the scores is to evaluate the person whether he can pass step 3 and boards...as per a program director words

when did u graduated?

I graduated in 2004. Other than my above mentioned scores I did 1 year of externship in Psychiatry in Canada and currently started another one. I am just so confused what shd I do in order to match... Sometimes feel so low. Thats why I really wanted to know about step 3 !
