Old graduate - 1999
#1
By the time I will apply for the match I will have a gap of 9 years since graduation. All through this time I was a stay at home mom. I was really thinking seriously to start the preparations and be back to my career but the scenario for old graduates looks scary! Should I just leave the hope of everbeing a practicing doctor in USA. I have a green card.

Never lose hope...... Keep trying. I know many people who go for USMLE after so many years of graduation.

Do not abandon your dreams. Prepare for and write all the steps and CS first and worry about residency later. If you keep procrastinating it would continue to hunt you. Get it over with irrespective of your scores and at the end you would be glad you did. A 1985 grad just matched this year for your info. You can only miss 100% of a shot you never took. GL.

How about an older graduate(95) who has never practiced medicine since graduation, with no green card?
Is there still hope for him??
