In a trauma patient with suspected intestinal perforation or a finding of retroperitoneal air on X-ray, the most appropriate test to order to confirm the diagnosis of perforation is Abdominal CT scan WITH oral contrast.

At first it threw me, but remember that if you suspect abdominal perforation you need to do a CT scan to confirm. However, don't use barium in an abdominal perforation, instead use gastrograffin. Why? B/c barium is very aggravating to the peritoneum. Gastrograffin is less dangerous if it leaks into the peritoneum.

I dont know how far its correct. I think that if only Xrays are found negative and even then u suspect perforation, only then u should go for CT.
