2. Pt on Aminoglycoside & undergone contrast study ---> developed nonoliguric ARF ---> what feature differntiated Aminoglycoside Vs contrast induced ARF

3- How can u prevent contrast induced nephropathy?

dunno about 2. possibly aminoglycosides affect the tubules while contrast injures the whole nephron?

ANSWER:

1. USG
2. Aminoglycoside induced nephropathy: develops 5 days after Tt
contrast induced nephropathy: develops immediately after study
3. prevention of contrast induced nephropathy: IV hydration 8-12 hr prior & after procedure, also can use Acetylcysteine
