Carotid sinus - aviator

Hi,

I know that carotid sinus reacts to hypertension .
My question is does it also reacts to lower blood pressure, when there no stimulation to carotid sinus , does it increase the heart rate in this case ?

carotid responds o bth increase and decrease in bp via 9 nerve
aortic arch baro..respond to only incree..via vagus

i mean its abt firing at high rate and lower rate with increase and decrease in bp that is sensed by nerves..becoz it is always firing..its abt more or less firing..
