im confused with the cncept of membrane potential and equilibrium potential.....can some1 help me in understanding it in a simple way? anyone friends

equilibrium p. is refer to the p. for a ion, such as K+, Na+, Ca2+, et al.
membrane p. is the voltage difference across the cell membrane, usually determined by K+, since only K+ channel is only at rest.

sorry for the typos, only K+ channel is open when cell is at rest.
