The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Review Committee
of the University of Florida College of Medicine- Jacksonville
recently met and I regret to inform you that you were not selected to be
interviewed in Jacksonville for a residency position. The number of
applications received has been truly overwhelming and although we would like
to interview each applicant, the logistics of such a task are clearly
impossible.

I want to tell you, however, that we sincerely appreciate your application and
will retain it in the event that interviewing time does become available, in
which case you will be notified immediately.

Best of luck to you in attaining your educational goals. Thank
you again for your application.

Sincerely,

@tata_unlucky,

I got 5 ivs last year. During ranking period, I got calls from two of those five progs encouraging me to choose them as they were going to rank me very high. You can imagine how difficult it was when I saw that I had not matched.

Netiher Albert Einstein nor Florida Jacksonville invited any IMGs last year, at least from what we can know from this forum. Ivs will start coming soon. Towards the end of the month, we will begin to see red messages quite often. Only between Sept 29 and Oct 2 of last year, I received about 15 rejs and 2 ivs.

Every rejs hurts, but realistically a great ratio for an IMG is 1 iv for every 10 applications. In my case, unfortunately, the rate is lower. Last year I applied to 100 progs (so my rate was 1iv per 20 appls). This year, unfortunately, I simply could not afford it. I am still paying for last year's process. I applied to fewer progs this year.

You must remain positive, ivs will come amidst a large number of rejections. It is just the reality for IMGs, regardless of credentials.
