Hi...people in this forum are doing a great job helping each other. I also have a query and would appreciate any help.
My top choice is psychiatry and I also applied in internal medicine and family medicine as a back-up. If I don't get into psychiatry this year, what would be the best way to get into one next year? Will getting into a categorical internal medicine program and reapplying again to psychiatry next year during 1st year of IM residency help in any case or will I only be complicating matters for myself by doing so? Also will transitional year be a better choice to ultimately get into psychiatry?
Thanks in advance.
