msu no longer sponsors H1B visa - neelu2

just got an email saying that they no longer sponsor H1s. this really sucks. i have an iv with them next week.

why is H1B so important, I want to know because i might have to decide depending on this thing

dude..are you kidding? without H1, you can't start residency unless you have GC/citizenship. now please don't ask why GC is important. i am going to cancel my iv with them. its just a waste of time and money for me.

have you heard of j1 ??
msu doesnt sponsor h1, means they will only sponsor j1, and you can do your residency on a j1, without a GC, and then later do j1 waiver to get h1 and then gc.
which msu are you talking about anyway? kalamazoo and sparrow both sponsor h1.
even if they dont sponsor h1, they are too good to cancel. take j1 if you have to.
do you understand what i am telling you ? getting into a good program matters, you can always deal with this visa issue later.

Visa is important but residency is more so get in and then deal with it
