A 65 yr old adult came with left sided chest pain of 12hrs duration.ECG revealed signs for acute myocardial infarction and troponin level was also determined. The Troponin level determination in this patient helps to:
a)diagnose MI
b)assess severity of infarction
c)find out underlying cause
d)grade response to thrombolytics
e)decide on initiation of Aspirin
Is it d? Can anyone answer with explanation?

why sam? can u explain?
it is not a- because troponin indicate myocardial damage but not the mechanism of damage.
defintely not c or e.
I read somewhere patients with elevated troponin levels may benefit more from antithrombotic therapy and revascularization than patients with normal troponin levels.
