A 10 y. old boy is brought because of increased urination and progressive fatigue during the past 2 weeks. Vital signs are normal except for a pulse of 120 / min, dry mucous membranes, and dry skin.....His fasting glucose 350 mg/dl.Which of the following mech. explains the increased urine output.
Answer:
Increased osmolarity in the tubluar lumen.
I just do not get the concept here

gulcose level is well above normal in DM 1....
normally total glucose is absorbed in pct...when the glucose absorption capacity is saturated the glucose is no more absorbed and appears in the urine ...as an osmotic agent it will pull water towards the tubular lumen and hence increase in urine output

yeah this is just wat myod expalined in simple terms it is nothing but due to osmotic diuresis.
