Could someone please clarify what one is supposed to do when the patient is in the hospital and not ready to leave (whether in ER/Ward/ICU)?
Do we act as though the pt "is" ready to leave and change all meds to po and d/c iv/npo/bedrest etc. and counsel 'now'. Or do we keep things as they are and order any follow-up testing and counsel 'later'.
Also, I know we can't change location at this point, but is it possible to schedule a follow-up appt? (I haven't been able to figure out a way to do this) or should we just order a follow-up test (if there is one to order).
Every time this screen pops up I feel completely lost, and neither UW nor the practice CD outlines 'the rules'.
Thanks in advance!
