Is it possible to start residenct on OPT status? - maral

I'm currently on OPT but I don't have a job right now, I was wondering how much I should try to find any job in order to keep my OPT status, in case it will help me start my residency on that!( My opt will expire in case I wouldn't find a job in one month! but it will continue for 1 year in case I find one!!)

Some programs do accept residents on OPT (but of course,you'd need to get the EAD).

What is EAD??? I have the employment authorization card!I have no idea what is EAD and how can I get it!

EAD = Employment Authorization Document -- its the 'card' that you have.

I thought it should be the same thing, but when I said I'm on OPT I meant I have that card, and When you said I need to get that I thought it might be something else that I don't know!!!!but thanks for letting me know about it! by the way, do you know how I can find out if any program will accept that,I don''t want to ask them personally! I mean is there any website to find these kind of information?!
