i have only 2 weeks psychiatry during my medical school...i heard illinois requires minimum 4 weeks for residency....is there any such requirement in the other states....please help...

Few states have that. California asks for it even before you apply for a programs. Few other states ask for it, when you apply for the permit after you have matched into a program and right before you start the program. It might be a good thing to find a substitution. For example, some other IM program related activity in home country can be similar to a psychiatry rotation, so you can include that. If not, complete another few weeks of psychiatry in home country when you visit next.

thanks spiderman for answering..i am applying for this years match.i am planning to go back to my country in february after the interviews..so i will get a chance to finish the rest of psychiatry if i get matched.....thanks again
