Hi All:

I am an old IMG ( graduated in 1995). I just started preparing for USMLE beginning with step 2. I attempted both the steps (twice) several years ago and failed. So took up a job in clinical research and now want to try again. Do I stand a fair chance if I indeed pass with great scores. What is the reality? I realize having so many factors against me is no good. But I want to get back to medicine. Am I setting myself up for a huge dissapointment? Does anyone know of any success/positive examples of OLD IMGs getting into residencies?

Thanks.

I am a 1997 FMG and am applying for the match this year.94/98/cs passed first attempt. I failed step 1 when I first took it in 1997.No failures after that. Had a few interviews this year and am hoping to match. Good luck and focus on getting good scores, you can very well be what you want to be!
