#1
normally what i read was that a person whose sputum is positive for afb, we place him on respiratory isolation and start treatment unless his 3 sputum afb are negative, which wud indicate a non infectious state, but in uw ccs they are treating him on an out patient basis........can any one solve this confusion?

no need to isolate him as long as he is on meds ( even though he is infectious). if he refuses to use meds, then hospitalise him and isolate even if he rejects to be admitted...
